AREAS AFFECTED : EAST GLACIER PARK REGION; NORTHERN HIGH PLAINS
* WHAT...For the High Wind Warning, southwest winds 35 to 45 mph
with gusts up to 75 mph expected to develop today. For the High
Wind Watch, southwest winds 30 to 50 mph with gusts up to 80 mph
possible Monday through Monday night.
* WHERE...Eastern Glacier National Park and adjacent foothills and
plains.
* WHEN...For the High Wind Warning, until 8 PM MST this evening. For
the High Wind Watch, from Monday morning through Tuesday morning.
* IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property and
cause power outages. Travel could be difficult to dangerous,
especially for high profile vehicles.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Multiple high wind events are expected this
week as a series of weather disturbances move across the Northern
Rockies and Montana. Strong winds today are expected to peak this
afternoon and be focused near the east slopes of the Rockies.
After decreasing some tonight, a more widespread strong wind event
develops Monday and Monday Monday night. A third and potentially
the strongest wind event of this series is possible Tuesday night
through Wednesday.
